D'Antigua Restaurant, Bar and Lounge

There is nothing antique about D'Antigua Restaurant, Bar and Lounge in Jackson Heights, Queens. Only around for a year plus it has set its foot down in Northern Blvd and looks like its here to stay. The nights are varied from hosting movies, poetry readings on Wednesdays to Latin rock bands on Fridays to Salsa and Merengue on Sundays. After a scrumptious meal stick around and dance the night away. The house cocktails are delicious and their house beer cocktail infusion, comes in two colors red and blue!

Horrible place!! Everything was horrible. The drinks tasted like water, the service and the food were disgusting!!! The prices were way too high for such a crappy service. Do not recommend!!!

I went to D' antigua last night. It was a disaster. The drinks are watered down. One round of drinks will cost you 20 or 24 dollars depeding on the bar tender, don't know if thats illegal. I guess they think your drunk and not looking at your bill. The food sucked, and the Papa's empanadas across the street saved the night. The skirt steak was almost 20 bucks with some squash I think. It was rubbery, and had no flavor. The coconut shrimp don't even match up to the ones you buy in BJ's and come with no sauce. The place is set up nicely I have to admit that. The cover was 10 dollars for a Manu Chao cover band that did kick ass. So they get you with a 10 dollar cover, give you horrible food and drinks that a high school dropout could have made better. But wait the worst part is they have this little miss piggy waiterss who was rude, inattentive, forgetful, gave our drinks to some one else, and kept harassing that you need to have drinks on the table in order to stay at the table. I was in a party of three and without any justification she charged a 17% gratuity. They don't inform you that the gratuity is determined by the waitress or management. I mean 15% gratuity for good service is more that fair, now 17% is outrageous. You can't get drinks at the bar and bring them to the table becuase the lazy ass waitress won't be able to change you in her tip then. So she makes a big stink. Really nice place, but over rated would prefer to go to La Kueva, or Oveja Negra any day because they are not as pretentious. The management allows for bad service. There was one stand up bartender though have to give him his credit, he can't help it he works for a place that just down right sucks. If you want to have a bad night and get robbed, please go to D' antigua. If you want good food, and to be treated right for your hard earned money go elsewhere. Faust
